Three people arrested in relation to Oro-Medonte shooting

ORO-MEDONTE - On Monday, May 14, 2018 at approximately 9:20 p.m. the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services (CSPS) responded to a report of a male who had been shot on Old Barrie Road in the Village of Rugby.

The victim, a 37-year old Aurora man, was transported to a Toronto area hospital with life threatening injuries.

The investigation which is being conducted under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Staff Sergeant Matt Watson and the Orillia OPP Crime Unit has been ongoing.

On May 15, 2018, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) assisted with the execution of a search warrant at an Oro-Medonte Township address. During the search, police discovered evidence which ultimately led to the arrest of three individuals.

Police have arrested and charged Cory Greenspoon, age 28, of the Blue Mountains, Larry Parisien, age 63, and Taylor McIsack, age 30, both from Oro-Medonte with: Attempted Murder.

All three accused have been remanded into custody and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie this afternoon.
