A Tay Township family got quite a shock Friday night.

Police say three men, brandishing firearms, allegedly threatened the family living in a residence in Waverley.

On March 24, around 9:46 p.m., police say they responded to a 911 call about a residential break-and-enter in the village of Waverley, Tay Township.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that the family living in the residence had been allegedly threatened by three armed men. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction in a dark-coloured Dodge Durango.

No one was injured, police say.

The OPP describe the suspects as three black males wearing bandanas. No further description is available at the moment.

Police also said in a news release that the suspects could be possibly armed and should not be approached.

The investigators believe that this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety.
