Third Barrie convenience store robbed since the weekend

Latest robbery happened Tuesday morning at Circle K on St. Vincent Street

For the third time in nearly as many days, a Barrie convenience store has been robbed at knifepoint.

Police responded to a call at 3:37 a.m., Tuesday, at the Circle K store located at 149 St. Vincent St. in the city’s east end after a man entered the store and proceeded to brandish a knife and rob the store before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately five-foot-six, and was wearing a red hoodie and white shoes.

Two other Circle K stores in Barrie  one near Duckworth and Grove streets and another at a store at Ferndale Drive and Ardagh Road  were robbed over the weekend.

Barrie police communication co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday the suspect from the weekend robberies has not been located, adding while there is a possibility the weekend robberies could be related to the most recent one on June 21, a close look at the suspects does show a slight difference in appearance.

"The third one does not appear to be related to the other two," he said Tuesday. "We have been looking very closely. If you look there is a similarity, but we are missing the 187 tattoo (on the leg). This one appears to not be related, but we are investigating."

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect from any of the three incidents to call 705-725-7025, ext. 2119.
