CLEARVIEW TWP. – On March 29, 2020, at approximately 1:04 a.m., a break and enter occurred at a Shell gas station located at 12384 County Road 10, Clearview Township, at the intersection of Highway 26. Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the incident.
Two unknown suspects broke a window in the front door to gain entry, then proceeded to steal approximately $35,000 worth of cigarettes. A third unknown suspect is believed to have been operating the vehicle during the incident.
The suspects and vehicle fled eastbound on Highway 26.
OPP Scenes of Crime officers (SOCO) attended the scene and collected evidence and surveillance footage of the incident.
The Huronia West OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) is now engaged in the investigation.
Police obtained a description of the suspects that entered the store and the involved vehicle. Police do not yet have a description of the third suspect.
Suspect #1:
- Caucasian male
- Heavy build
- Approximately 5 feet 7 inches - 6 feet tall
- Was wearing dark jeans, black hooded sweater, mask, and gloves
Suspect #2:
- Possibly female or youth
- Slim build
- Approximately 5 feet tall
- Was wearing dark jeans, black hooded sweater, mask, and gloves
Suspect vehicle:
- White 2008 or newer cube van, possibly a Ford E-series model
- Multivans truck body
- Black stripe approximately 2 inches wide along the front fender and door, just under the window on the driver's side
