Bradford - A 16-year-old Bradford youth is charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision after a dirt bike struck a pickup truck in Bradford.

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 around 4:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer was flagged down by a motorist in the Yonge St. and Line 8 area who said his vehicle was just hit by a motor bike.

The victim reported that the male driver of the bike had fled the scene. Police observed a dirt bike on its side on the roadway.

Officers received information about a possible suspect and just after 7:00 P.m. a youth was taken into custody at a residence in Bradford.

He was arrested for failing to remain at the scene of a collision. Paramedics assessed his injuries and treated him on scene before he was transported to South Division.

The teen was released with an August court date. He was also ticketed for careless driving, having no licence plate on an off road vehicle and not wearing a helmet.
