Teen charged after traffic stop leads to blue heroin, crystal meth

PENETANGUISHENE - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on Sandy Bay Road in the Town of Penetanguishene at 1:56 a.m. April 12, 2019.

The male driver and male passenger became the subject of a police investigation at the scene resulting in the seizure of a quantity of drugs along with $300 in Canadian currency and associated drug paraphernalia.

The seized drugs were later identified as blue heroin, and crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,700.

Charged is Damon Wright, 18 years, of Penetanguishene with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Heroin

Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released from police custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 12, 2019. A further investigation of the incident after the accused was released has lead investigators looking to speak with the accused in relation to this incident.
