An 18-year-old Schomberg man is facing multiple charges after a road-rage incident escalated.

On Saturday, June 15 around 6 p.m., two vehicles became involved an incident on Highway 9 near Schomberg.

The cars proceeded northbound on County Road 27 with one driver aggressively following the other. When the cars reached the Bond Head area, the drivers pulled over to the side of the road, exited their vehicles and exchanged words.  

One of the drivers pulled out a handgun and threatened the other driver. The suspect then got into his car and left the area.

The investigation was turned over the the Criminal Investigations Bureau. On Tuesday, June 25, detectives arrested the teen in connection with the incident. A search warrant was also executed at his home and a glock pellet gun was located.

"Many pellet guns closely resemble actual firearms," notes Detective Sergeant Mike Adams of the Street Crime Unit. "We strongly caution members of the public against carrying these weapons in public".

The teen is facing charges of Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace, Use a Firearm During the Commission of an Indictable Offence, Assault with a Weapon and Dangerous Driving.
