Tay Township man charged in relation to LCBO break-in

TAY TOWNSHIP - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment were dispatched to a break and enter in progress at 11 p.m. Sept. 17, 2019 at the Port McNicoll Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) store. Attending uniform officers searched the area as the suspect(s) had fled the scene prior to their arrival.

At 11:27 p.m. on Sept. 17, the officers located and arrested Jamie Gould, 23 years old of Tay Township, and charged him with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence
  • Possession break-in instruments
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Breach of recognizance

He was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Nov. 7, 2019.
