Suspicious vehicle complaint leads to drug charges

On Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 at 11:07 p.m., members of the Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle and people near a private residence on Highway 11 North in Oro-Medonte Township. 

As a result of investigation police discovered a small amount of various drugs: crystal meth, OxyContin, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana

Matthew Simon, age 27 of Warren, Ont. was arrested and charged with the following and Held for a Bail Hearing to be held at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie for:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code
  • Six counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance - cannabis marijuana contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Gina Watson, age 27 Sturgeon Falls was arrested charged and released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 for: 

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
