BRADFORD — On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, around 2:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police constable was monitoring traffic on Bradford West Gwillimbury Line 5.

He saw a vehicle approaching that appeared to be speeding.

A radar reading confirmed a speed 116 km/h; Line 5 is an 80 km/h zone at this location.

The officer stopped the car, and the driver admitted that he did not have a licence as it was suspended.

Further investigation by the officer revealed that the man had been convicted of impaired driving, and was under a two year court-imposed driving prohibition.

The 31 year old Barrie man was charged with Drive Disqualified, and two counts of Drive Under Suspension.

His car was impounded for 45 days, and he was given a criminal court date.
