A 28-year-old Bradford woman is facing several driving related charges after being stopped by a South Division officer on Dissette Street on Thursday evening for a Highway Traffic Act offence.

During the investigation, it was learned the woman had her driving privileges suspended for the past year after she failed to pay her fines on other traffic-related matters. The officer also learned that the woman's vehicle was uninsured and the plates had expired over two years ago.

She is facing charges of Driving While Under Suspension, Operating without Insurance and Expired Plates and will be appearing in Provincial Offences Court next month to explain herself to a Justice.

You may not drive, under any circumstances when your licence is suspended. If you are convicted of driving while your licence is suspended, you will face fines in the thousands of dollars. The court could also order you to spend up to six months in jail, and six months will be added to your current suspension.

The minimum fine for operating a vehicle without insurance is $5,000.
