Suspect surrenders in fail-to-remain pedestrian crash in Angus

Man charged with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as failure to remain at the scene of a collision

A man has turned himself into provincial police following a failure-to-remain crash in Essa Township last week. 

On Tuesday, Jan. 17 at approximately 9:13 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers responded to a collision in the area of King and Auburn streets in Angus.

As a result of a previous news release issued on Sunday, OPP say the suspect driver surrendered to police and has been charged with assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code, as well as failure to remain at the scene of a collision under the Highway Traffic Act. 

No other details about the accused, including name, age or hometown, have been released. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
