Police have released photos of a wanted person who spat in the face of a GO Transit conductor when exiting the train at Barrie’s Allandale Waterfront GO Station on April 14. The suspect is wanted for the assault.

“We had initially posted some pictures we had that were provided the night of the incident. They weren’t clear at all and were somewhat distorted,” said Peter Leon, communications co-ordinator for the Barrie police. “We were hoping to get (photos) that were a little bit clearer, and we certainly did.”

According to Leon, the wanted person was riding the train on April 14 with another person. The two fell asleep on the train, and missed their stop.

When the conductor was walking through the train at the end of the run to clear the train, the altercation occurred.

“Someone who spits in a conductor’s face, especially during these times when everybody is trying to do their best to not spread germs, it makes it even more disgusting,” said Leon. “The conductor was just doing his job at the end of his run.”

“I anticipate someone will look at this and (recognize) them,” he added.
