Firearms Occurrence

(Innisfil, ON) During the early morning hours of Saturday, September 17th, South Simcoe Police were called to the Cookstown area for the sound of
gunshots. Officers checked the neighbourhood, but were unable to find anything out of the ordinary.

On Sunday, September 18, a resident of Cookstown located some used shell casings in the area. Police were called and seized the spent casings. A
search of the area located more used shell casings and officers noticed that a second floor window of a nearby home had been boarded up. Police
spoke with the occupants of that home, but they were uncooperative.

On Monday, September 19, Detectives conducted a search warrant on the home to collect evidence related to the incident.

Officers believe this is an isolated incident, however anyone with information on this occurrence is asked to call the investigating officer at (905) 775-3311 or (705) 436-2141 extension 1020 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
