The Barrie Police Service is proud to welcome six new recruits to its ranks at a special badge ceremony, which will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, in the Rotunda at Barrie City Hall, located at 70 Collier St.

The six new constables have recently completed their basic constable training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in and receive their police badges during the ceremony.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will include members of our Senior Administration, Police Services Board as well as family and friends.

  • The new Constables have spent 12 weeks at the Ontario Police College (OPC) after being hired by Barrie Police Service, attending classes on everything from provincial and federal statutes to police vehicle operations.
  • After completing their studies at OPC, the Recruits spend an additional three weeks training with the Barrie Police Service Training Unit.
  • Once they are officially sworn in, these Constables will be paired with a Coach Officer for 12 weeks.
  • You will see these Constables serving in our community right away, be sure to say hello and welcome them to the City of Barrie!
