Police are remaining tight-lipped about a fatal shooting in Bracebridge that occurred Wednesday.
According to a media release from the OPP, two people were located "with apparent gunshot wounds" when officers arrived at a Stoneleigh Road residence Wednesday at about 2 p.m.
Officials said a 56-year-old man was located deceased at the rural residence where the shooting occurred.
A 52-year-old woman, with "life-threatening injuries," was transported to a local hospital and later flown by air ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma centre, noted a media release.
Gosia Puzio, a media relations officer for the OPP, said she could not provide specific details as the shooting is under investigation.
However, she said no suspect is currently being sought and said the incident may be "domestic related." She also said, to her knowledge, only one weapon was recovered in the wake of the shooting.
Investigators "believe this is an isolated incident and there are no concerns for public safety."
