Police seize heroin, cocaine. Seven arrested

On Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 members of the Street Crime Unit arrested four individuals [alleged to be] dealing heroin and cocaine within the City of Barrie. The arrests were as a result of a lengthy drug investigation.

Investigators further executed a search warrant on a residence on Copeman Crescent in the south end of the City of Barrie residence where three additional parties were arrested.

During their investigation officers seized:

  • Approximately 20 grams of heroin with a street value of $8,000
  • Approximately 20 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,000
  • Approximately $3,000 Canadian currency
  • Various pieces of drug paraphernalia

Charges:

  1. Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 6
  2. Trafficking in a controlled substance x2
  3. Possession of a controlled substance x8
  4. Obstruct police x2
  5. Federal parole breach
  6. Drive while under suspension
  7. Breach of probation

During investigation it was also discovered that one of the males was on a Federal Parole release.

Three parties held pending a bail hearing. Two parties released with a future court date. Two parties released unconditionally.
