On Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 members of the Street Crime Unit arrested four individuals [alleged to be] dealing heroin and cocaine within the City of Barrie. The arrests were as a result of a lengthy drug investigation.
Investigators further executed a search warrant on a residence on Copeman Crescent in the south end of the City of Barrie residence where three additional parties were arrested.
During their investigation officers seized:
- Approximately 20 grams of heroin with a street value of $8,000
- Approximately 20 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,000
- Approximately $3,000 Canadian currency
- Various pieces of drug paraphernalia
Charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 6
- Trafficking in a controlled substance x2
- Possession of a controlled substance x8
- Obstruct police x2
- Federal parole breach
- Drive while under suspension
- Breach of probation
During investigation it was also discovered that one of the males was on a Federal Parole release.
Three parties held pending a bail hearing. Two parties released with a future court date. Two parties released unconditionally.
