Barrie police are looking for witnesses following an armed robbery that took place shortly before 11 p.m. last night.

Officers responded to a call at the Circle K convenience store at Ferndale Drive and Ardagh Road at 10:43 p.m., on Saturday, June 19 for an armed robbery in progress.

The suspect was wearing a black fleece sweater, a black baseball cap with unknown writing on the side, red and blue knee-length shorts with the Superman symbol on the front, and brown moccasins.

He is described as 30 to 40 years old, between 180 and 200 pounds and approximately five-foot-eight to five-foot-10 with above ear length dark hair and a scruffy beard.

The suspect, who had a knife, also had a large tattoo with the number 187 on the back of his right calf and another unknown tattoo on his left calf.

Police believe there may be witnesses who were getting gas in the nearby parking lot and could have seen the suspect run toward Ferndale Drive.
