Police seek suspects in hobby shop break in

The Barrie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identity two suspects following a break and enter that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, just before 3 a.m., at a hobby shop, located in the south end of Barrie on Commerce Park Drive.

Video surveillance captured the suspects lurking around the premise just after midnight. One suspect can be seen from a secondary camera obscuring the rear door video surveillance by spray painting the lens.

At 2:47 a.m. the suspect returns with a second male and within minutes they gain entry into the building through the front door and remove approximately $6,000 in merchandise. It is believed the suspects fled in a vehicle heading west on Commerce Park drive. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspects are described as;

Suspect # 1

  • Male
  • Heavy build, 5’10”
  • Wearing a balaclava, sunglasses, grey hoodie, black pants and gloves.

Suspect # 2

  • Male
  • Medium build, 5’8 – 5’10”
  • Wearing a balaclava, black jacket, gloves, jeans and black running shoes.
