Police seek driver who fled after striking 15-year-old pedestrian

Male transported to hospital with serious injuries. Vehicle described as small, dark-coloured car with dark, tinted windows and a loud exhaust

TAY TOWNSHIP, ON - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for your assistance solving a fail to remain crash which occurred between 8:05 - 8:35 pm March 20, 2019 on Pine Street in Waubaushene, Tay Township.

Officers along with OPP Scenes of Crime Officers (SOCO), County of Simcoe Paramedics and Tay Township Fire Service attended the scene between the Esso Station and the Waubaushene Fire Hall to aid a 15-year-old male pedestrian who had been struck by a south bound Pine Street vehicle which failed to stop and fled the scene.

The male was treated at the scene and transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital and later to a Toronto area trauma center for further treatment of his serious injuries.

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public locating the driver and vehicle involved in this incident. Vehicle is described as a small dark coloured car with dark tinted windows and a loud exhaust. It headed west on Highway 12 from Pine Street as it fled from the scene.
