City police are appealing to the public in an effort to locate a missing elderly woman in northeast Barrie.
Police are asking people in the Shoreview Drive area, near the Blake Street and Penetanguishene Road neighbourhood, to check their backyards, sheds and any outbuildings on their property.
[The woman], 71, is described as five-foot-three with a small build and grey hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a white jacket.
She was last seen near Shoreview Drive.
If you see footprints that don't belong there or weren't in the yard Thursday night, Barrie police ask residents to call 911 immediately.
