Police say coffee truck driver was actually selling weed

Police located 292 grams of Cannabis Marijuana, 27 Oxycodone pills, 11 grams of hash, along with digital scales and baggies inside the truck.

Barrie Police recently received information of some suspicious activity by a coffee truck servicing the Barrie area, suspecting marijuana was being sold more often than beverages.

After a thorough investigation, the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit arrested a local coffee truck driver for trafficking drugs from his truck on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at 10 a.m.

Police located 292 grams of Cannabis Marijuana, 27 Oxycodone pills, 11 grams of hash, along with digital scales and baggies inside his truck.  

A short time later, police executed a search warrant at his Shanty Bay address and located:

  • Over 550 Cannabis Marijuana plants 
  • Excess of 100 Buprenorphine pills 
  • 9 grams of Hashish
  • A small amount of  Oxycodone 
  • Cannabis Resin and Psilocybin (mushrooms)
  • Equipment to manufacture drugs 

The 53-year-old Oro-Medonte male was charged with:

  1. Trafficking- Marijuana 
  2. Trafficking- Cannabis Resin
  3. Trafficking- Oxycodone
  4. Possession for the Purpose- Marijuana
  5. Possession for the Purpose- Cannabis Resin
  6. Possession for the Purpose- Oxycodone
  7. Production of Cannabis Marijuana
  8. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana
  9. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Oxycodone
  10. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Cannabis Resin
  11. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Buprenorphine

A second 24-year-old Oro-Medonte man was charged with:

  1. Production of Cannabis Marijuana 
  2. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana 
  3. Production of a Controlled Substance- Cannabis Resin
  4. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Psilocybin (mushrooms)   

Two other adult female residents have arranged to turn themselves in at a later time to face Production of Cannabis Marijuana charges.  All accused were released with a future court dates,

Two of the accused had Medicinal Marijuana licences but greatly exceeded what they could possess.
