York Regional Police continues to seek public assistance to locate a 53-year-old man missing from the Town of East Gwillimbury.

Robert John Weiss was last seen on video surveillance on July 12, 2019, at 3:30 p.m., walking northbound through the Lowes Plaza at Yonge Street and Green Lane. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Investigators are releasing video surveillance that shows Mr. Weiss walking through the plaza, with several vehicles passing by him, in particular a red pickup truck at the end of the video.

Investigators are hopeful that the occupants of the red pick-up truck may have witnessed which direction Mr. Weiss ended up walking. They are also seeking anyone who may have seen Mr. Weiss on July 12 and appealing for them to come forward with any information on where they may have seen him walking.

Mr. Weiss is known to frequent the area of the Newmarket Inn and the plazas at Yonge Street and Green Lane. Officers with the York Regional Police Search and Rescue Unit, Air Support Unit and the Canine Unit have conducted extensive ground searches in this area.

Police and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his well-being.
