Police were called to Collingwood Collegiate Institute today regarding a message written on a bathroom wall.

According to a letter sent to parents, principal Charlene Scime said an inappropriate message was written on a bathroom wall inside the school.

“Police were called to the school and conducted a full and thorough investigation. Out of an abundance of caution, there is an increased police presence at the school, and we are taking appropriate precautions to keep our students and staff safe,” wrote Scime.

Scime did not elaborate on the contents of the inappropriate message, however Collingwood-Blue Mountains OPP described the message as "graffiti involving a threat" in a news release.

“I want you to know that we will always take whatever measures necessary to keep our students and staff safe,” she wrote.
