Police look for man accused of stuffing dresses down his pants

He asked a third dress be put on hold under the name 'Paul' before he left the store with two dresses still allegedly concealed in his pants

Barrie Police Service is looking for the public’s assistance after a male suspect entered a standalone retail shop in a Bayfield Street plaza, stealing two dresses.

On Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:35 a.m., the suspect entered Reitman’s located at 498 Bayfield St. in the City of Barrie. (It is alleged) he selected two ladies sun dresses and stuffed them down his pants. 

He proceeded to shop and when approached by staff he claimed to be shopping for his mother. He asked a third dress be put on hold under the name “Paul” before he left the store with the two still (allegedly) concealed in his pants. The value of both dresses totalled just over $130.

Description:

  • Male, black
  • 35 to 40 years old
  • Brown eyes
  • Wearing a black hat, blue jacket with white stripes down the arms, white shirt, grey pants and red shoes
