Police investigating sexual assault in Collingwood

Members of the Crime Unit from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a sexual assault in Collingwood and are asking for the public's assistance in solving this crime.

The incident took place sometime overnight from the 22nd to the 23rd of April in the area of Minnesota Street, north of Hume Street, where a female walking in the area was approached by what is described as three teenage males and was sexually assaulted.

The victim was eventually able to make her way to hospital to be treated for minor physical injuries.

No further description of the assailants is available at this time.

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and personal safety at all times and to call police to report any suspicious activity.
