ESSA TOWNSHIP - On Oct. 15, 2017, at approximately 7:47 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on Line 6, Essa Township.
A female was walking on Line 6, north of Highway 89 when a vehicle traveling northbound struck her. The Nottawasaga OPP were assisted at the scene by Essa Fire Department, Simcoe County Paramedics and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigations (TTCI).
The 60-year-old pedestrian from Essa Township was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved did not sustain any injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing and further details will be released once they become available.
