Barrie Police were not far behind the pair of thieves as they attended two different Zehrs in town to steal various electronics.

On Thursday, Jan. 12, 2016 the accused male first attended Zehrs located at 620 Yonge Street, in the City of Barrie, selecting two sets of Marley Positive Vibration Headphones and [allegedly] leaving the store without paying.  

The male then attended the Zehrs located at 11 Bryne Drive, selecting a 40" television and [allegedly] walking straight out of the store with it in his hands. The male was seen fleeing in a grey van with the back window smashed out and plastic taped on it, being driven by a second male.  

Police immediately recognized the vehicle from a previous investigation and located it a short time later with both parties inside and all the stolen property.

A 59-year-old Innisfil man has been charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 x 2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime x 2

A 36-year-old Angus man has been charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 x 2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime x 2
  • Fail to comply with probation 

Both males were released on promise to appears with future court dates as well as undertakings with multiple conditions.
