Police dog finds knife after suspects flees

Innisfil man, 30, has been charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

INNISFIL - South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 30-year-old Innisfil man following a domestic incident in Innisfil.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 around 9 p.m., police were called to an Innisfil home for a report of a man armed with knife and making threats.

When police arrived, the suspect fled but was arrested nearby and charged with utter threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was transported to North Division where he was eventually released with a future court date and a number of conditions.

The canine unit attended the scene to conduct an article search. Police service dog Nitro located a knife that was hidden in the backyard and it was seized for evidence. No one was injured in the incident.
