Police charge 10 people with distracted driving, including school-bus driver

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Huronia West Traffic Management Team laid 10 distracted driving charges on River Road West in the town of Wasaga Beach over an six-hour period on April 8, 2019.

One of the charged drivers was a female driver operating a school bus transporting approximately 10 children around the age of 12 and under.

Drivers are reminded the new distracted driving laws went in to effect Jan. 1 2019 and will carry fines between $1,000 and $3,000 and a driver's licence suspension of up to 30 days.
