Police seek public assistance identifying theft suspect

On Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at approximately 3:50 p.m. an unknown suspect entered Loblaws located at 472 Bayfield St., in the City of Barrie. 

He was observed by a loss prevention Officer (LPO) concealing four packages of baby formula in a re-usable grocery bag. The suspect left the store making no attempt to pay for the concealed items and was immediately approached by loss prevention. 

The suspect realized he had been caught and dropped the bag of goods before fleeing on foot out of sight. Police learned the male had also stole candy, meat and other food items totalling over $225.

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white
  • 30 to 40 years old
  • Short blonde or grey hair
  • Approximately 6' tall and 180lbs
  • Wearing a black leather jacket, white t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes
