South Simcoe Police Service officers have made an arrest following an armed robbery in Bradford West Gwillimbury last summer.
The robbery occurred on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 around 12:30 a.m., at a gas station near Highway 400 and County Rd. 88.
A man armed with what appeared to be a handgun entered the station and made a demand for cash. An employee complied and the suspect fled with a quantity of cash. The employee was not physically injured during the incident.
As a result of an intensive investigation by the South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit, a suspect was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019.
Police have charged a 31-year-old Innisfil man with the following offences:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Robbery with theft
- Fail to comply with recognizance
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose'
- Point firearm
- Utter threats
- Fail to comply with recognizance - 3 counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
