OPP investigating Tottenham homicide after woman's body found inside home

Police responded to a Clifford Crescent address around 3:30 a.m., Tuesday; Male resident of the same residence arrested at the scene

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at approximately 3:20 a.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for service at a residence on Clifford Crescent in Tottenham, New Tecumseth.  

Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult female inside the residence. An adult male resident of the same house was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody.

As a result, a homicide investigation is being conducted by the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

There is no threat to public safety and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
