ORILLIA - On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified that nails were found buried in the playground sandbox of Harriett Todd Public School within the City of Orillia.

At approximately 2:20 p.m. the Orillia OPP was notified by a concerned citizen regarding the discovery of nails found in the sand of the school's playground. School officials have been notified and are working toward making the playground safe again. 

The OPP would like the public to be aware when taking their children to parks and play areas to be aware of potential hazards.
