One person sent to hospital after 4-vehicle crash at Bayfield, Grove

Bayfield Street was closed northbound while the traffic unit investigated the incident

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a four-vehicle crash near downtown Barrie this morning.

City police received the call about crash at the intersection of Bayfield Street and Grove Street East shortly after 9:30 a.m. Jan. 27.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said although details were sparse, emergency personnel did transport one of the occupants to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) with what is believed to be minor injuries.

Bayfield Street was closed northbound while the traffic unit investigated the incident.

Members of the police tactical unit were also on scene to assist in getting the vehicles safely removed from the roadway, added Leon.
