Driver of car taken to hospital after crash at Dunlop Street and Sarjeant Drive

One person has been taken to hospital following a late-afternoon collision in Barrie’s west end.

Barrie police received a call about a crash between a car and a dump truck in the area of Dunlop Street West and Sargeant Drive shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, said Peter Leon, the force’s communications co-ordinator.

Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash, he said, and the driver of the car was taken to hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries.

City of Barrie crews were expected to arrive to clean up the scene shortly before 6 p.m., Leon told BarrieToday, adding the investigation was still in its early stages, and more information would likely be available later.
