No serious injuries after vehicle plows into Thornton landmark

Fire department official says driver suffered medical episode that resulted in the crash

No serious injuries were reported after a vehicle crashed into the historic Queen's Hotel building in Thornton early Tuesday evening.  

Emergency crews responded to the call at around 6 p.m., Nov. 22. 

Essa Township Deputy Fire Chief Gary McNamara said the driver of the vehicle had suffered a medical episode that resulted in the crash into the building, located at the intersection of County Roads 21 and 27, south of Barrie. 

The driver was taken to hospital.

No serious injuries were reported.
