Morning argument leads to assault with a weapon charge in Alcona

Police say the incident involved two brothers; one was treated by paramedics after being cut with a kitchen knife

A 38-year old Innisfil man has been charged with assault with a weapon after North Division officers were called to an Alcona home around 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The man had become involved in an argument with his adult brother.

During the incident, the suspect slashed his brother in the arm with a kitchen knife. 

The suspect fled prior to police arrival. However, officers began a search of the area and located the man driving nearby.

He was pulled over, arrested and taken to the police station. He was later released on a promise to appear and will be appearing in Bradford Court on Aug. 15, 2019.

The victim was treated at the scene by Simcoe County Paramedic Services for the cut and is expected to make a full recovery.
