RIDE spot check leads to over 80 charge

TINY TOWNSHIP – On Saturday December 12, 2015 at approximately 4:40 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E check in Tiny Township.

A black GMC Sierra pickup truck approached the officers, an odour of alcohol was detected and as a result the driver registered a “fail” on the roadside screening device. The male driver was arrested and transported to the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Jamie Douglas BELL (age 36) of Wasaga Beach has been charged with Driving with more than 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on December 17, 2015.
