Midland man charged with attempted murder; second suspect sought

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have been investigating a serious assault that occurred in a Lescaut Road residence in the town of Midland on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019.

OPP officers were dispatched at 5:24 a.m. along with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services who triaged and transported one victim to a local hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of their investigation, police have identified two persons.

OPP investigators hold a Criminal Code of Canada arrest warrant on a charge of robbery with a weapon for Tyler Robert McCue, 29, of Penetanguishene. Police urge the public not to approach him as he is considered dangerous and should call 911 if he is observed. 

OPP investigators have also arrested Timothy John Nessman, 44 years old, of Midland, on Oct. 31, 2019 on the following charges:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Robbery with Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held to appear before the Barrie bail court.
