CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ONT - On Jan. 25, 2018 at approximately 9 p.m., members of the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Clearview Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a single vehicle accident involving a motorized snow vehicle.

An initial OPP investigation revealed that a motorized snow vehicle operated by a 27-year-old male was on private property when the driver lost control and was thrown off the motorized snow vehicle. The operator was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

At this time, police are advising that weather conditions and speed of the snowmobile were factors in the accident.

OPP would like to remind operators and passengers to wear the proper safety gear when riding motorized snow vehicles.
