Man suffers life-threatening injuries in early morning motorcycle crash

Police say the man struck a tree around 2 a.m. in the city's east end

A 38-year-old man is fighting for his life in a Toronto hospital after his motorcycle crashed in to a tree in Barrie early Sunday morning.

Barrie police were called to the scene of the collision in the city's east end at 1:45 a.m., June 20.

The man was taken to Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, noted police officials Sunday evening. 

Blake Street was closed between between Vancouver and Nelson streets while police investigated the incident.

The traffic unit is still investigating what caused the crash.
