Man runs from store with hundreds of dollars in winter wear

South-end store’s security footage shows suspect selecting numerous jackets and pants from the racks before exiting the store

Barrie Police are looking to identify a man who stole more than $1,300 worth of winter outerwear from a south-end Barrie sporting goods store.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, just after 4 p.m., a man was seen running out of the store with a quantity of clothing without making any attempt to pay for the items, which included numerous winter jackets and winter pants.

A review of the store’s security footage showed the suspect selecting numerous jackets and pants from the racks, before exiting the store.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, white
  • Short brown hair, balding on top, with a thin beard/moustache
  • Wearing a three-quarter length black wither jacket with a hood, khaki pants, winter boots
  • Carrying a white cell phone
