Man charged with criminal harassment after young girls approached in Angus park

ESSA TOWNSHIP - Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old Clearview Township man with two counts of criminal harassment following two incidents that occurred last week.

On Thursday, March 21, 2019 at approximately 5:30 p.m., an unknown male driving a dirty black Chevrolet sedan with a fin and loud muffler, approached a group of young girls who were playing in the park located on Greenwood Drive in Angus, Township of Essa.

It was reported during this incident that the male engaged the young girls in conversation, asking them to come with him and would in turn give them money.

The girls declined and left the area, reporting what had taken place to a parent who immediately called police.

A few minutes later, the complainant saw the male return back to the park and was approaching a second group of young girls.

The complainant called police and provided an update on the male. Officers attended the area and identified and arrested the male.

As a result of the investigation, Anthony Holtorf is still in custody and being held for a bail hearing.
