Man accused of killing Collingwood woman appears in court

The man accused of killing a Collingwood woman in June at a home in Georgian Meadows remains in jail while his case goes through the courts. 

John Collins, 57, has been charged with first-degree murder. His most recent appearance was today (Nov. 16). He is scheduled to appear again on Dec. 7.

The details of his court appearances are under a publication ban. 

Collins is accused of killing Kinga ‘Kay’ Kriston, 55, who was found dead in her home in Georgian Meadows on Friday, June 10. She was a local real estate agent.

Police charged Collins, of Orillia, with first-degree murder in connection with their investigation into Kriston’s death. 

None of the allegations against Collins have been tested in court.
