WASAGA BEACH – On Oct. 27, 2020 at approximately 2 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a break and enter in progress at a residence in Wasaga Beach.
Police were informed that a male attempted to enter a residence through a kitchen window and was observed with a stainless steel kitchen knife.
Through investigation police were able to identify a lone male suspect and located him shortly after at another residence.
Patrick Cole, 23 years old, of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and is charged with
- Break and Enter Dwelling - Commit indictable offence CC 348(1)(a)
- Robbery CC 343(a)
- Assault with a Weapon CC267(a)
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose CC 88
- Uttering Threat - Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a)
- Assault Peace officer with intent to resist arrest x 2 CC 129(b)
- Disarming a Peace Officer CC 270.1(1) • Fail to comply with probation order CC 733.1(1)
He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident. Investigation currently ongoing.
