A 65-year-old man from King Township has been charged with criminal negligence following a case of alleged prescription fraud in Aurora last month.
Georges Tsakiris is charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm, personating to gain advantage and two counts of forgery, utter forged documents, possessing identity information for fraudulent offences and making documents without authority, respectively.
On Dec. 16, 2024, York Regional Police say an alleged victim reported he had experienced significant health problems after receiving treatment at a medical spa in the area of Hollandview Trail and McMaster Avenue in Aurora.
Police said prescriptions were being issued by a person impersonating licensed medical practitioners and prescribing medications to the victim that were not applicable to his health, police stated in a news release.
Police believe that there may be additional victims and are urging them to come forward with information.
