INNISFIL — A 32-year-old Innisfil man faces numerous charges after police recovered a stolen firearm.

The South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit recently received information relating to a man in Innisfil who was in illegal possession of a firearm. The team commenced an aggressive investigation into the allegations, which resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old Innisfil man. A search warrant was executed at his residence, resulting in a firearm being located. The recovered firearm had been reported stolen in a break-and-enter in 2015. The man was charged with several firearms offences including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He has a court date in December.
