Innisfil man charged when police smell alcohol at RIDE check

After failing a roadside screening test, he was transported to North Division where his breath test resulted in readings over the legal limit

INNISFIL - A 42-year-old Innisfil man is charged with over 80 after being stopped at a RIDE program in Innisfil.

On Saturday, July 27, 2019 around 12:45 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers detected an odour of alcohol from a vehicle that was stopped at a RIDE check at Webster Boulevard and Forest Street.

After a fail was registered on a roadside screening device, the driver was arrested and transported to North Division. His breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.

A 42-year-old Innisfil man was charged with over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
