Innisfil man, 62, killed in Whitchurch-Stouffville crash

37-year-old Bradford man driving dump truck sustained minor injuries in Friday's collision, which remains under investigation

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

On Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, shortly before 9 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Aurora Road, between Kennedy Road and McCowan Road. 

When officers arrived, they located a waste disposal truck and a dump truck that had collided with one another. 

The driver of the waste disposal truck, a 62-year-old man from the Town of Innisfil, was suffering from injuries and transported to hospital where sadly he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the dump truck, a 37-year-old man from the Town of Bradford, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision are being asked to please come forward.
